Not even being sprayed in the face with green liquid can stop this Russian politician from campaigning

You have to feel for Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny who was out and about meeting people when someone sprayed brightly coloured liquid in his face.

But don’t worry, he wasn’t harmed and the liquid wasn’t dangerous – it was a common Russian antiseptic that remains on the skin for days.

The prank by an unknown assailant in the Siberian city of Barnaul means Navalny will be continuing his campaign with a fetching blue/green face for a while – but that hasn’t put him off one bit.

As he says in a video that “even more people will watch me” and, well, here we are watching him – so he’s not wrong.
