If you listened to Donald Trump’s speech at his Florida rally last night, you’d be forgiven for thinking that something major had gone down in Sweden.
Trump said: “look what’s happening last night in Sweden” as he alluded to past terror attacks in Europe.
However, there’s one big problem: no one’s quite sure what he was referencing, as there was no major incident in Sweden that night. Aftonbladet newspaper listed in English some events that had happened Friday in Sweden, including a man being treated for severe burns, an avalanche warning and police chasing a drunken driver. Not exactly huge world events.

Former Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt tweeted: “Sweden? Terror attack? What has he been smoking? Questions abound.”The hashtag #LastNightInSweden soon went viral, as people came up with their own interpretations of what Trump might have been talking about. For many people, it was clear that none other than the Swedish chef from the Muppets was involved.
