The saga between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is definitely moving in the right direction, with both men in Las Vegas apparently hoping to get a deal sorted out.

Mayweather has responded to McGregor’s latest Instagram post – in which he announced his arrival in Vegas – telling him to get in touch so a deal can be worked on.

The “business with the UFC” Mayweather’s referencing is his contract situation. UFC would want a cut from the McGregor v Mayweather fight, which might be a problem as The Notorious suggested he’d like to push it through the newly set up McGregor Promotions. As far as money is concerned, as long as he can get a good pay day the fight will happen. And for him that would be around $100 million.Reports this week suggested the financial side of things had been nailed down, but now with both men in the same city we seem closer than ever to getting the super-fight confirmed.

“I am in Las Vegas. Floyd has retired on my arrival,” McGregor captioned that post. Fans of both boxing and UFC are keen to see the fight, which would take place in the ring, and McGregor has already got his boxing licence for California – although one for Nevada is likely to be needed. The war of words between the pair has been going on for some time now, with The Notorious saying in a Q&A session he wants the Mayweather fight before defending his UFC lightweight belt, and both men saying the fight would happen this year. Will this be the scene before the year’s out?
