Alastair Cook’s captaincy of England will be remembered most fondly for Ashes victories against Australia in 2013 and 2015, but Cook should also be remembered as England’s most handsome leader.

The 32-year-old has been a steady hand at England’s tiller since 2012, and looks just great in an England shirt and cap, the Waitrose sponsorship oozing class.

Cook’s got the lot: 30 Test centuries, 11,057 Test runs and kind eyes.

Check out that jawbone. We choose to believe he’s leaning on an imaginary lamppost here, but he could equally be striking a pose on the catwalk.

With or without a helmet, Cook looks great, furrowed brow and all.

As well as a fine cover drive, Cook also has many model poses in his armoury.

Oh, Alastair.

(Owen Humphreys/PA)

He’s got head boy written all over him, hasn’t he?

(Steve Parsons/PA)

Here’s Cook looking awesome at the oche – silk shirt, nice.

Bat in hand, is there a more beautiful cricketer to gaze upon?

(Anthony Devlin/PA)

One for the cricket purists there, perhaps.
