An Ed Sheeran fan faces moving back in with her parents and selling her car after spending more than £1,000 on tickets to the singer’s gig.

Charlotte Duckworth, from Littleborough, Rochdale, was desperate to watch Ed live at the Manchester Arena and was able to get her hands on three tickets to the gig in April.

However, after receiving an email confirmation, the 21-year-old realised she’d spent more than assumed, blowing £1,337 on the tickets.

The tickets themselves cost €1131.30 (£977.60), while a booking fee of €325.56 (£281.33), €26.20 (£22.64) delivery fee and €65.11 (£56.26) VAT were added on too.

She attempted to contact her bank after realising, however was told the transaction has already gone through.

Charlotte told the Manchester Evening News: “After a horrible year last year, all I wanted was to start this year off with a bang and see my idol.

“I was rushing to buy the tickets because when you’re putting your details in lots of pop ups come on the screen saying there’s 20 people waiting for these tickets. You’re also being timed.”

She added she may even have to move back home with her parents or sell her car to cover the costs of the tickets.

In the meantime, Charlotte wants to spread the word so others don’t make the same mistake as she did, and read the full booking terms thoroughly.
