Attendants formed a human circle of solidarity around the mosque during prayers.Organised by the Christian Muslim Forum, the event was a response to certain worrying world events. On the organisation’s Facebook page it says: “This week has seen murderous violence against Muslims in Quebec and we stand with our Muslim brothers and sisters at this time of international turbulence.” It also formulated a reaction to Donald Trump’s travel ban targeting Muslim-dominated countries.

Ajmal Masroor, Chair of the Islamic Society of Britain said: “After recent events in the US and Canada, we received calls from leaders of many faiths & beliefs wanting to show solidarity with British Muslims.
“I feel these leaders want to relay the message that we are all equal citizens of this great country and that we must stand as one when any of us feels isolated or scared. We are deeply touched by this real show of support.”

The simple event really struck a chord with some people.
Friends in need are friends indeed. Surrounding a mosque with bonds of togetherness, fabulous symbolism that says #Londonisone @BritIslam https://t.co/zOoDzU63En
