Jon Stewart needled one of his favourite targets on Tuesday night as he stopped by former Comedy Central colleague Stephen Colbert’s show.

The former Daily Show host appeared on The Late Show dressed as President Donald Trump, donning a suit with an extra-long red power tie and a stuffed animal on his head.

Jon mocked Trump’s flurry of executive orders by reading faux proclamations from the president, including demanding China immediately send the US the Great Wall in order to secure the Mexican border.

He turned more serious at the end of the appearance, saying the country has never faced what he called Trump’s “purposeful, vindictive chaos” before.

Meanwhile Ellen DeGeneres also targeted Trump on her chat show on Monday as she used her Finding Dory stardom to illustrate her opinion on the recent executive order on immigration and refugees.

Ellen narrates for the title character in the Disney and Pixar hit and Trump hosted a screening of the animated film at the White House over the weekend.

The TV personality discussed the plot of the film on her chat show, mentioning the animated fish she plays finds herself stuck in an aquarium institute “behind a large wall”.

And she notes that the wall “has almost no effect” in keeping Dory and her friends from getting back to the ocean.

She adds Dory is helped by other sea creatures “even though they’re completely different colours because that’s what you do when you see someone in need, you help them”.
