The problem with social media is that it’s ridiculously easy to post anything you want, and once it’s out there, there’s no taking it back. That’s what Donald Trump’s press secretary Sean Spicer has found out, and probably much to his embarrassment.
Yes, some ingenious people with a bit too much time on their hands have gone through all of Spicer’s tweets to find out his dark secret: he’s spent five years of his Twitter life hating on Dippin’ Dots. For the non-Americans out there , Dippin’ Dots are an ice cream snack, which markets itself as “Ice Cream of the Future”.
Seems harmless and probably quite delicious, right? Wrong – according to Spicer. In one of the earlier tweets waging war against the ice cream brand in 2010, he takes issue with their slogan.
Dippin dots is NOT the ice cream of the future
— Sean Spicer (@seanspicer) April 8, 2010
A year later, he reiterates his point, hitting Dippin’ Dots right where it hurts.
I think I have said this before but Dippin Dots are notthe ice cream of the future
— Sean Spicer (@seanspicer) September 22, 2011
Then things got even more bitter, as Spicer posted an article detailing the company’s bankruptcy. Ouch – we’re not quite sure why Spicer hates Dippin’ Dots so much, but he really isn’t holding back.

But 2011 wasn’t the last we’d hear of the matter – showing that his rage had no sign of slowing down, Spicer had another bone to pick with Dippin’ Dots in 2015. Ice cold.
If Dippin Dots was truly the ice cream of the future they would not have run out of vanilla cc @Nationals

Spicer has got himself into a fair bit of hot water recently over criticising the media for what he called “deliberately false reporting” following news reports on the difference in attendance for Trump’s 2017 inauguration and Obama’s in 2009. He claimed that Trump’s crowd was the “largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period, both in person and around the globe” – but this was proven to just not be correct. This caused #spicerfacts to start trending on Twitter as people ridiculed his dodgy grasp on the truth. We just don’t know what to believe anymore – is Spicer’s hatred of Dippin’ Dots real? Or is this an elaborate ruse?
The most troubling aspect is the conclusion that since Spicer always lies, it follows that Dippin' Dots ARE the ice cream of the future.

But you know what they say: hell hath no fury like a press secretary who really dislikes small balls of ice cream.
