No jobs are a walk in the park (unless you are, of course, a dog walker who does ramble through a park), but some are definitely more or less stressful than others – and that’s exactly what CareerCast has ranked.
So, how do you even rank the stressfulness of a job? CareerCast has taken a bunch of criteria into account, ranging from travel to career growth potential and physical demands.

Careercast does say: “Stress factors is not a commentary on the societal importance of a job” – the least stressful job “plays an important role in healthcare, providing imagery for expectant mothers and identifying possible injuries to the muscles.”
And on the flip-side of that, here are all the most stressful jobs:
1. Enlisted military personnel
2. Firefighter
3. Airline pilot
4. Police officer
5. Event coordinator
There are perhaps few surprises on this list. For the military, firefighters and police officers: “These are careers with high risk of physical harm to oneself or another, for whom the professional is directly responsible.” Understandably, pretty stressful stuff.
