After 508 league appearances for Liverpool, Jamie Carragher retired in 2013, but for a brief moment it looked as though the former England international was making a comeback.
Carra works as a pundit now with Sky Sports, but amidst the Chinese Super League rumour-mill, Carragher appeared to tweet the following.
Official announcement, delighted to announce I am coming out of retirement, looking forward to getting back on the pitch. ???? ??

Carragher turns 39 later in the month, so it wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility that he could make a comeback. It didn’t take him long, however, for him to set the story straight.
I didn't tweet this so it looks like I've been hacked! Tweet could've been a lot worse!! But if any Chinese club wants to give me ?? ?????? https://t.co/uJozsD2Daj

And only later in the day did he reveal that it was in fact some gym fiends who sent the mischievous tweet.
Not hacked after all! @LiamBeefySmith & a few rats in the gym got into my ???? Only 1?? positive it may alert the ???? clubs I'm available ????????

Could Carra be tempted out of retirement though for a reasonable salary? We’re not sure.
