When we receive bad news, all we want to do is curl up into a ball, have a bit of a cry, and eat a whole lot of chocolate. However, this teenager has turned rejection into something so much better than just tears and empty calories.
When Louisa Saunders’ daughter Claudia received her rejection letter from Oxford, instead of throwing it into the bin she showed off her creative flair by turning it into a piece of art that is worthy of the abstract impressionists.
Yesterday, my daughter learned that she hadn't got into Oxford. By the time I got in from work, she'd made this from her rejection letter pic.twitter.com/KCInrTA1OO

And no – despite what you might think – Claudia wasn’t in fact applying to study fine art (although we really think she should). Instead, she was hoping to go to Oxford to study Classics. It’s not all bad though, because Louisa says that Claudia has an offer from Durham University which also has a pretty great Classics department.Even though Claudia may not have succeeded in her bid to go to Oxford, she’s definitely managed to win over everyone’s hearts with her art.
@louisa_saunders @lesliemolson You have a great kid, too talented for Oxford by far.

@louisa_saunders She doesn't need a place at Oxford, she needs her own gallery exhibition.

This isn’t Claudia’s only artwork – check out some of the pieces from her Instagram.
With her creativity, we’re sure that Claudia’s going to go far, whatever she does.
