Creative and financial freedom is the goal for most people when entering the world of work, but successful entrepreneur Steven Bartlett says if you want to make millions you might be going about it the wrong way.

Why?

Stop focusing on money, the 24-year-old CEO of influential marketing agency Social Chain says, and start thinking about value.

Steven Bartlett – If you want to become a millionaire one… | Facebook

“Stop focusing on becoming a millionaire before the age of 25 because, contrary to popular belief and books that have been written, the world doesn’t give you a million pounds because you think about it. Or because you ask for it.

“The world will give you a million pounds when you figure out how you can give the world a million pounds worth of value.”

That’s the first point Steven, who dropped out of Uni at 20 following one business lecture, makes.

The second is: the avenue you follow in order to make your millions needs be one you do better in than the competition – and in order for that to happen it needs to be something you’re “obsessed” with. Something you love.

Once you’ve found what you love you need to do it more than others doing something similar – essentially this is where pure hard work comes in.

The final point might just be the most important.

“Everyone you encounter are gonna be people, they’re human beings right? They’re gonna be the A&R stood behind those doors if you’re gonna be a recording artist. They’re gonna be the investors stood behind the door if you wanna be an entrepreneur. So be nice to people!

“Being nice is unlimited. It always has a positive effect…”
