Most people dread the thought of having to go to a police station, but this guy could barely hide his excitement for his grand entrance.

JJ McMenamin, 30, made sure he went down with as much flair as possible by handing himself in on Facebook Live dressed as Where’s Wally.

He’d been the subject of a mass police search in North Yorkshire over the weekend, with sniffer dogs and even a police helicopter out looking for him.

The suspect had been taunting police on Facebook by changing his profile picture to one of the popular hiding character with his face superimposed over the top, and by crowning himself the “Hide Seek Champion 2016-2017″.

But he’d clearly decided the game was up on Monday morning and filmed himself walking up to Harrogate Police Station after being driven there by his mates.

And he had another laugh at the situation as he played Lionel Richie’s Hello – which contains the line “is it me you’re looking for?” – and Spencer Davis Group’s Keep On Running on the car stereo.

A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “A 30-year-old man from Middleham has been arrested after he handed himself in to officers at Harrogate Police Station.

“The arrest comes after extensive police searches for the man over the weekend, after he failed to turn up for a court hearing for driving offences.”
