With Zig and Zag set to return to our screens, Ricky Wilson has teamed up with Kaiser Chiefs' bandmate Simon Rix to record a new theme song for the twosome.

The lead singer has been making the most of his free time before he returns as a coach on The Voice in January, though this isn’t his usual sound.

Zig and Zag are getting their own show on CBBC, written and voiced by original creators Ciaran Morrison and Mick O’Hara, who created the puppets for RTE in 1987. Coronation Street actress Debra Stephenson will also be involved in the series.

According to Digital Spy, the new show will follow the extraterrestrial pair as they create havoc after crash landing on earth.

In 1992 Zig and Zag found fame in the UK when they joined Channel 4 breakfast show The Big Breakfast, before making a reappearance in 2010 on Big Brother’s Little Brother.

This is not Zig and Zag’s first music video: in 1995 they had a UK Top 5 single, Them Girls Them Girls.

Zig And Zag will air on CBBC in spring 2016.
