SAOIRSE Ronan, Michael Fassbender and Caitriona Balfe came away empty handed from the Golden Globes in Los Angeles, but Brie Larson won Best Actress for her performance in the Irish co-production Room.
Carlow actress Saoirse Ronan had been nominated in the Best Actress category for her role in Brooklyn.
Room's author Emma Donoghue from Dublin, had been nominated for Best Screenplay but lost out to Aaron Sorkin for Steve Jobs.
Room had also been nominated for Best Picture.
There was disappointment for Steve Jobs star Michael Fassbender in the Best Actor category, with Leonardo DiCaprio winning for The Revenant. It was DiCaprio's third Golden Globe win and the third time Fassbender had been nominated.
DiCaprio's win was one of three for The Revenant: it was also named Best Motion Picture, Drama and Alejandro González Iñárritu won Best Director.
Caitriona Balfe who plays Claire Randall in Outlander was shortlisted for Best Actress in a TV Drama, but lost out to Taraji P Henson for her role in Empire
