The return of the Vauxhall GSi
VAUXHALL is to serve up a high performance version of its new Insignia, and says it will use the car to revive the sporty GSi nameplate which was last seen on a Vectra.
The hot Insignia gets the full set of modern performance armour. That means four-wheel-drive, a tweaked chassis with adaptive FlexRide suspension, powerful Brembo brakes and an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Power comes courtesy of a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine which produces 256bhp and 295lb.ft. Quoted combined fuel consumption is 32.8mpg and CO2 emissions are rated at 197g/km.
Other sporty appointments include a full leather sports interior and beefed-up exterior styling.
