AFTER overhauling the Octavia range, Skoda has turned its attentions to revising its Rapid and Rapid Spaceback models.

Cosmetic changes include new front and rear bumpers, tinted tail lamps and new wheel trims, while xenon headlamps can now be specified.

Inside, there has been some minor redesign of the dashboard, with new air vents and air conditioning controls, and Skoda's latest in-car connectivity kit can be ordered.

It gives the Rapid access to online traffic information, allows the car to call the emergency services in the event of an accident and enables certain functions to be controlled remotely via an app.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto give smartphone connectivity and a wifi hotspot is also part of the package.

A three-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol unit, with either 94bhp or 109bhp, is added to the engine range. A 1.4-litre petrol with 124bhp, 1.4-litre diesel with 89bhp and 1.6-litre diesel with 113bhp are also available.

Generous luggage space remains a distinguishing feature of the model, with the Rapid boasting a boot volume of 550 litres and the Spaceback 415 litres.
