Hyundai readying small SUV
TODAY'S new SUV announcement comes courtesy of Hyundai.
It says it has a new 'sub-compact' crossover - think something of Renault Captur or Nissan Juke size - on the way.
The car will be called Kona - a name which reminds me of an old mountain bike, but which Hyundai says is drawn from "the Kona district on the Big Island of Hawaii, reflecting the island's energetic image and unique lifestyle".
The Kona will join the Santa Fe and Tucson in the company's burgeoning SUV range.
It will be an important part of Hyundai's plan to be the leading Asian automotive brand in Europe by 2021, and part of a sales push which includes 30 new models and derivatives.
