CAPTUR-ING THE MARKET: Renault's Captur is Europe's favourite small crossover but it is facing a slew of competition for its crown - meaning it's time to give the model a facelift.

It gains funky LED headlights, a range of new body colours and can be ordered with a panoramic fixed glass roof.

The interior has also been overhauled and Renault will sell you a dizzying range of personalisation options, with different colours for the interior trim, side sills and even the hub caps.

"The Captur was the first model in Renault's new crossover line-up," said Mario Polla, Renault's boss of all things Captur.

"It was important for us to refresh its external appearance in line with the newer models in the range, the Kadjar and the forthcoming Koleos.

"We also enhanced the quality inside the cabin by replacing injection-moulded plastic with trimmed materials, and the choice of colours and fabrics is now more sophisticated too.

"We have paid great attention to every detail overall and the strength of the car. We have upgraded the fit and finish of the car."
