WE are Mazda fans here at Drive, so a nod to the company's striking RX-Vision, which has won the title of 'most beautiful concept car of the year'.
The prize is awarded at the Festival Automobile International in France, now in its 31st year of celebrating the best in car design.
The RX-Vision not only looks fabulous but packs a rotary engine beneath its long, low bonnet - a move which has won enthusiasts' approval as it signals that Mazda is persisting with the unconventional engine design.
The RX-Vision is a concept car, and while it may not be appearing on our roads any time soon, you can be sure that elements of the design will filter through to upcoming Mazda models.
The other contenders for the most beautiful concept car were the Bentley Exp10 Speed 6, Peugeot Fractal and Porsche Mission E.
The concept award goes to the vehicle that industry experts regard as best embodying "pure design creativity and emerging trends".
Winner of the 'most beautiful car of the year' title - in other words, for the car that can be bought today - was Renault's Talisman. Sadly for style-seekers, the handsome saloon isn't actually on sale in Northern Ireland...
