AT one time or another - but usually on a Monday morning -  everyone has fantasised about what they would do if they won the lottery.

From splashing out on lavish holidays to treating themselves to extravagant gifts, a National Lottery poll has reveal exactly what people from Northern Ireland would do if they found themselves holding that lucky ticket.

More than a third of people said they would celebrate by dancing around the room and jumping for joy.

When it comes to marking the event, over half of those polled said they would fork out on a slap-up dinner for the whole family, while 23 per cent said they would get straight on the laptop to book a holiday.

Andy Carter, one of the lottery team whose job it is to pay out those millions to the winners, said he’s seen a whole range of reactions from those who’ve hit the jackpot.

"Some people are lulled into a stunned silence where others cannot stop laughing," he said.

"Some cry with joy but others just chatter in disbelief, asking for confirmation again and again as they don’t think it can be true."

So, what would you do? After all, someone has to get the lucky six numbers – it could be you.
