Here's where you can get free Christmas dinner if you're on your own on Christmas Day

Soul's, 84 Dublin Road, Belfast

Soul's restaurant on Dublin Road is opening its doors between 5pm and 8pm on Christmas Day to anyone who would like dinner and company.

The restaurant asks that anyone who wishes to donate items such as clothes, toiletries or small gifts for their Christmas guests gets in touch.

 

Common Grounds Café, 12-24 University Avenue, Belfast

A free three-course Christmas dinner is being served between 12pm and 2pm on Christmas Day at this south Belfast café which promises roast turkey (with a Halal option), stuffing, cooked ham, roasties and all the trimmings.

The social enterprise has served 1,200 Christmas meals since it first started opening on Christmas Day in 2007. 

Common Grounds manager Laura Green said: "If you know of anyone in Belfast who’d enjoy some company on Christmas Day, along with a tasty hot dinner and some festive cheer, then let them know that our doors will be open."

 

Wee Joe's in Cushendall, Co Antrim

With the help of the Marine Hotel in Ballycastle, the team at Wee Joe's has doubled the number of Christmas lunches they can deliver to people in their homes on Christmas Day. To request a lunch call or text Pol Shields on 07725 445 056.

Volunteers are also needed in the greater Ballycastle area to deliver the meals.

 

Bengal Brasserie, 455 Ormeau Road, Belfast

The south Belfast restaurant is offering free Christmas dinner from noon until 8pm. To book your place at the table ring 9064 7516. Members of the public who wish to give a gift to the people attending on Christmas Day can drop a present off at the restaurant.

 

Kilmore Country House, Glenariffe, Co Antrim

The Kilmore Country House is hosting its free event at 3pm on Wednesday December 20. You'll be treated to dinner, music and craic. Ring 2177 1356 for more information.

 

The Gateway Club, Kilmorey Street, Newry

You can enjoy dinner and refreshments from 1pm until 2.30pm.

Anyone who wants to help by cooking one extra Christmas dinner and dropping it off at the club can do so.
