Superbites in Crossmaglen and The Dolphin Takeaway in Dungannon have been selected as the best fish and chip shops in Northern Ireland and will compete against Britain's best in the National Fish & Chip Awards.
The two chippies had their frying skills put to the test over the summer and judges also rated their menu development and innovation, sustainable sourcing policies, staff training processes and marketing activity.
The awards are organised by Seafish and the 20 finalists across Northern Ireland and Britain will be whittled down to 10 in coming days as the judges maje unannounced visits.
The finals will be held in London in January 2018.
