Recipes for freshers: chicken stir fry you can make in a flash
FRET not freshers, you won't go hungry now that you've left home. Every week we'll bring you a quick and easy recipe that tastes and looks better than a Pot Noodle and is just as easy to make.
Donegal chef Brian McDermott will talk you through how to prepare and cook the dishes and we promise that making dinner won't eat into your social life or burn through your spending money.
Brian, who's known as the no-salt chef, says moving into student accomodation shouldn't mean your diet suffers.
“Leaving home for the first time can sometimes lead to an over reliance on the toaster and of course the old reliable tin of beans. But that doesn't have to be the way of it for students," he said.
“It is so important to eat well and it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg to do so. In fact the recipes I have put together are cheap, use beautiful fresh ingredients and are so tasty too."

Brian says that if you watch his videos you'll soon get into the swing of cooking.
“Following these recipes I promise that making delicious good food will be fast, easy and enjoyable, even if you are making your way around the kitchen for the first time. And of course all the mammies and daddies will be pleased knowing that their loved one is settling into college with a belly-full of good food that they have cooked themselves.
“So there is no excuse. Eating properly is easy once you know how. And you never know you might just discover a passion for cooking."
We'll post a new video recipe every week and would love to hear how you're getting on in the kitchen.
