Skoda's sporty new Enyaq Coupe iV vRS goes on sale

As Skoda prepares to put its first ever all-electric vRS model on sale this week, David Roy finds out what drivers can expect from the sporty Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV vRS – £50k-plus of electric SUV...

SKODA'S new coupe version of the Enyaq SUV makes its debut this week: the Enyaq Coupe iV vRS goes on sale tomorrow, priced at just a tad over the 50k mark.

Customers can place their orders for the very first fully electric vehicle to wear Skoda's sports-spec signifying vRS badge from tomorrow, provided they have £51,885 to spare.

The 295bhp Enyaq iV vRS comes equipped with an 82kWh battery, capable of charging at up to 135kWh and delivering a range of up to 309 miles WLTP.

Easily distinguished from the standard Enyaq iV models thanks to its tapered rear roofline, the Coupe iV vRS gains extra performance 'oomph' thanks to a twin electric motor set-up, one on each axle, meaning that this sporty Skoda generates 339lb ft of torque and makes 0-62mph in a brisk 6.3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 111mph.

The Enyaq vRS also gets its own specially raked sports chassis which sits 15mm lower at the front and 10mm lower at the rear than vanilla Enyaqs, plus dynamic steering as standard.

Its sporting appearance is finished off with model-specific 20-inch alloys (with 21-inch wheels available as an option), a full aero package, full LED headlights and Skoda's Crystal Face 131 LED-enhanced grille.

Inside, there's a special vRS interior package featuring heated leather sports seats in black with grey piping and contrast stitching, a leather multifunction sports steering wheel and leather-look dashboard with contrast stitching and carbon effect inserts, plus rally-style aluminium pedals.

First deliveries of the Enyaq Coupe iV vRS are currently expected to arrive at Skoda dealerships in July, with further versions of the Enyaq Coupe iV to follow.
