Invivo X, SJP Sauvignon Blanc 2019, Marlborough, New Zealand (£12, Sainsbury’s)

Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker has teamed up with Invivo, a New Zealand winery, to put her name to a Sauvignon Blanc. Abundant notes of grapefruit, honeysuckle, passionfruit, and citrus jump from the glass. The palate leads with sweet-scented fruits and a soft but balanced finish. Pair it with pan-fried fish like garlic prawns, seared scallops or spiced crab cakes.

You can’t go wrong with the crisp, refreshing style of this Spanish white wine variety from ‘green Galicia’, where cool breezes from the Atlantic shape the wines and touch the fruit with a subtle salty tang. Vibrant and uplifting, lemon and grapefruit are supported by notes of nectarine. Aromas of fresh apricot, white flowers and a touch of honey. A generous palate with white peaches, apricots and a refreshing finish.

WINE OF THE WEEK

Vinsobres AOP (£7.99, Lidl)

Vinsobres is one of the top wine-producing villages in France’s Côtes du Rhône – characterised by their freshness and delicate tannins due to the position on the edge of the Alps. The wines possess an exceptional balance between tannins, acidity, spice and red fruit aromas which ensure good structure. With deep colour and savoury, spicy fruit, this is an authentic Syrah-based red wine. Perfect with lamb and duck.
