Irish Center Parcs to open next month

Center Parcs Longford Forest has announced that the long-awaited Irish resort will officially open on Monday July 29. Located within a 400-acre woodland, the resort includes 466 self-catering lodges and 30 apartments, with three types of accommodation to choose from – woodland, executive and exclusive. With more than 100 indoor and outdoor activities to choose from, there is plenty to keep families entertained, from nature activities and boating to adventure activities and swimming at the resort's Subtropical Swimming Paradise, which is heated to 29.5C all year round. Lake Garda resort adds a new hotel

Gardaland Resort, situated on the shores of Lake Garda, is Italy’s largest resort theme park. It is home to more than 30 thrilling rides, Peppa Pig Land and Gardaland Sea Life centre. This month sees the opening of a third hotel at the resort. The Gardaland Magic Hotel comprises 128 large themed rooms featuring three different settings: Enchanted Forest, Magic Ice Castle and Great Wizard, each incorporating a double bed and two single beds. New direct flights to western Canada

This month sees Westjet launch a three-times-weekly direct service between Dublin and Calgary in the western Canadian province of Alberta. The new service will also offer onward connections to 24 destinations including Vancouver and Las Vegas. The new Dublin-Calgary route will operate from Dublin three times per week, on Sunday, Monday and Thursday, with return flights departing Calgary on Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday.

Calgary is one of six Canadian destinations served directly from Dublin Airport this summer, joining Toronto, Montréal, Vancouver, Halifax and Hamilton, Ontario. For availability and booking see Westjet.com
