PIPS and Cause to benefit from Colemans Garden Centre fundraising evening

PIPS Charity and Cause offer support in the areas of suicide and self-harm prevention and mental illness

MENTAL illness and suicide prevention are the focus of a fundraising event in Co Antrim on Friday. Colemans Garden Centre and Café Restaurant in Templepatrick is hosting a Charity Fine Food and Wine Tasting Evening at 7.30pm, with proceeds going to PIPS Charity and Cause.

PIPS is a community organisation with a strong grassroots-led ethos on suicide prevention and self-harm which delivers support services, counselling and therapies throughout Northern Ireland. Its support extends to families and friends bereaved by suicide; it has an open-door policy, with no appointment is needed

Cause is a peer-led regional charity offering services to families, partners and friends across the north caring for a loved one who has experienced serious mental illness. It facilitates local monthly support groups, as well as a helpline where carers can access support and information on 0845 6030291.

At the charity food event, Colemans' award-winning chef Paul Glass and his culinary team will prepare fine food and summer savoury and dessert canapes, with Paul also giving a short talk on each dish.

Guests will get to experience six premier wines on the evening, with Mine Bennett, Direct Wine Shipments professional wine connoisseur giving a brief presentation on each choice.

There will also be a fun auction and raffle and guests will leave with a potted plant. Tickets are £25 each and are available from the garden centre or contact 028 9443 2513
