SHOWING at Newry Town Hall at 8pm on Friday February 2, Dawn (1928) is a silent film that tells the story of World War 1 martyr Edith Cavell, a nurse who risked her own life by rescuing prisoners of war from the Germans.
She was aided by Madame Ada Bodart, a Newry-born woman who plays herself in the film. The movie is accompanied by pianist Darius Battiwalla, who has composed a score specifically for the movie.
