THEY wouldn't let it lie: comedy geniuses Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer are back on the box next week with a 'Christmas special' revival of their superbly surreal 1990s Channel 4 hit Vic Reeves Big Night Out.
Cunningly being screened several days after Christmas and now democratically re-titled to reflect the not unsubstantial contributions of Mr Mortimer, Vic & Bob's Big Night Out will feature a mix of old favourites (Novelty Island, Graham Lister, the classic Oh! Mr Songwriter finale) and brand new stuff too.
Indeed, the BBC have got so excited by the Christmas special that they've told Vic and Bob to record a further four episodes for a Brand New Series.
"We are so chuffed and excited to be given the chance to reinvent the Big Night Out so long after it all began," enthuses Bob, who's recently recovered from some fairly hairy heart problems.
"We shall make it as joyous and surprising as it was all those years ago.
"It's playtime again," agrees Vic.
"All these years on and we can still both do the splits. We can not be stopped."
