POLITICS is a grubby business and President Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) is stuck in the mire in the second salvo of the serpentine political thriller created by David Guggenheim.

A year has passed since terrorists bombed the Capitol and killed US leaders, resulting in the swift and unexpected promotion of Kirkman to the White House. This series, he faces more political and personal challenges, including a tense hostage situation aboard an airplane, flanked by his trusty chief of staff Emily Rhodes (Italia Ricci) and Secret Service Agent Mike Ritter (LaMonica Garrett).

Meanwhile, Kirkman's wife Alex (Natascha McElhone) and their two children continue to readjust to life in the spotlight.
