OK, SO series four wasn't exactly great – but that was because of scheduling difficulties which prevented the main cast from shooting together en masse (the reason for its not always rewarding focus on one character per episode), thus putting the kibosh on the kind of caustic multi-character back-and-forths which made the Bluth family TV comedy gold in the first place.

Having now realised that this was 'a terrible mistake' last time around, Arrested Development writer/showrunner Mitch Hurwitz will hopefully learn from it for the new 17 episode series which Netflix have just announced.

"In talks with Netflix, we all felt that that stories about a narcissistic, erratically behaving family in the building business – and their desperate abuses of power – are really underrepresented on TV these days," he says of the upcoming series, which fans will have to wait until next year to see.

With all the key cast members back on-board including Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi, Jeffrey Tambor, David Cross, Jessica Walter, Alia Shawkat, Tony Hale and Will Arnett, hopefully this time around the powers that be at Arrested Development HQ have ensured all will be available to film simultaneously.
