- FANCY more than 40 per cent off a new car? It’s a 4x4 too, offering much-needed extra traction for slippery conditions at this time of year. With it being fully electric, you won’t have those big petrol or diesel bills normally associated with Chelsea tractors… OK, so this is a 12V children’s ride-on toy with a top speed of just 3.2mph but still, it’s down from £229.99 to £129.99 in Maplin’s sale. It’s suitable for kids aged between three and eight. Search for item N73EH at www.maplin.co.uk or use the quick link http://tinyurl.com/j9bo75c.

- Amazon's Music Unlimited streaming service costs £9.99 per month but you can easily slash more than a third off the price. Take out an Amazon Prime free 30-day trial and then you can pay for a year's music subscription for an up-front £79 fee, equivalent to £6.58 per month. Cancel Prime before the free trial ends – otherwise you'll be billed £79 per year for that too.

- Get 15 per cent off the St Valentine's Day range at Post-A-Rose when you use the code EARLYBIRD17 by January 31. Go to www.post-a-rose.com and make sure you order in good time for February 14 delivery.

- Beat down the cost of filling your shopping basket by using as many discount coupons as possible. Consumer website MoneySavingExpert has collated a stack of them at www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/supermarket-coupons. They’re mostly the printable kind. The latest include 75p off Pantene shampoo or conditioner.

- Until January 31 photographic shop Calumet is offering two years’ interest-free credit when you spend £500 or more – so you can snap up some gear and pay it off gradually without a high finance fee. As usual with credit, it’s subject to status. Terms and conditions apply. Read them at https://www.calphoto.co.uk.
