YET more must-see TV hit our screens this week with the return of terrorism-themed US drama Homeland on RTE2.
The sixth series finds former CIA operative Carrie Mathison back on US soil, looking after her young daughter while working for a New York-based Non Governmental Organisation assisting Muslims who've fallen foul of over zealous anti-terror laws.
Carrie's former angel of death Quinn (Rupert Friend) is also back home, having miraculously survived his horrific brush with Sarin gas at the end of the previous series – however, he now faces a whole new battle against addiction, depression and disability in the wake of his injuries.
The America they find themselves in is like a weird Twilight Zone version of the real-life one, with a hawkish president elect poised to wreak military-backed havoc once she (Elizabeth Marvel) takes office.
Is Carrie wasting her time trying to atone for past sins by helping those her government have already decided they want rid of – and how exactly will she find herself sucked back into the line of fire this time around?
Fans will be only too keen to start finding out.
