CINEMAGIC International Film and Television Festival for Young People will hosting a number of Shakespeare-inspired film screenings in Belfast this month as part of its Little Bard season.

The initiative forms part of the British Film Institutes’ Shakespeare on Film series, which celebrates the playwright’s life, and work, and, of course, the impact he has had on cinema. Queen’s Film Theatre will play host to a screening of family animation Gnomeo and Juliet on June 11, and comedy drama Bill, which features the cast of Horrible Histories and Yonderland, on June 18. There will also be a screening of Disney classic, The Lion King on July 30 at the Ulster Museum.

Little Bard season will also include workshops for young people on script writing and animation, at the Ulster Museum and the Crescent Arts Centre.

BFI Presents: Shakespeare on Film will see over 300 screenings and events taking place across the UK.
