:: A few weeks ago I told you how you can get Dyson products for less by buying directly from the company’s customer care line. That still applies but there’s another way to obtain a discount while getting rid of an old appliance. Argos is giving up to £130 off Dyson products when you trade in any vacuum cleaner of any brand, type or age. The minimum discount is £20, when you buy an appliance at the lower end of the price range, whereas the full £130 can be claimed on purchases of a DC50 multifloor model (bringing it down to £239.99 instead of the usual £369.99). For more details click on the banner at www.argos.co.uk or go straight to the promotion page http://tinyurl.com/hbovpre. The offer ends at midnight next Tuesday and is also available at www.dyson.co.uk.

:: Want to lay your hands on a deluxe Easter egg without shelling out too much? Lidl has cracked it with Fudge Feast and Eton Mess varieties for just £2.99, available while stocks last. Find your nearest store at www.lidl.ie.

:: Until Thursday new Vodafone customers can get a Sim card for £20 per month (for 12 months, after which the cost rises unless you cancel) with 20GB of 4G data and unlimited minutes and texts. You can also choose from 12 months’ free Netflix, Spotify Premium, Sky Sports Mobile TV or Now TV Entertainment. Sign up via Broadband Choices using the special link from consumer website MoneySavingExpert, www.moneysavingexpert.com/redir/4fe016fb.

:: Western Digital (best known for hard drives) gives students between 20 and 60 per cent off. Go to the shop section at www.wdc.com and click on ‘education program’. You’ll need a valid school, college or university email address.
