Hospice staff showcase talents for fundraiser
STAFF at Southern Area Hospice Services are preparing to take to the stage to raise funds in aid of hospice care.
Doctors, nurses, social workers and chaplains, together with admin, maintenance, housekeeping, catering and fundraising staff will showcase their ‘talents' as part of the 25-year celebrations of hospice care in ‘Hospice has Talent' on Friday November 20. The event, supported by ML Quinn Construction, takes place in Newry's Canal Court Hotel.
The BBC's Lynette Fay will host the evening and the winner of the talent contest will be determined by audience votes.
"We are really looking forward to the event. Staff have put in a lot of time and effort over the last number of weeks to pull the show together, and we are asking local people to come out to support us in what is sure to be a great night of entertainment," said hospice nurse Rosaleen Quinn who, together with her colleague Jackie O'Rourke, is lead organiser of the event.
"All funds raised through ‘Hospice has Talent' will help Southern Area Hospice Services to continue our work in the local area, caring for people who are living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses," Jackie said.
"We're hoping this event will big a huge success to end out 25-year celebrations."
