Getting to grips with the new, enormous Apple iPad Pro

A new third version of the iPad, the iPad Pro, has been launched by Apple and looks set to take on Microsoft’s Surface.

Not only is the iPad Pro bigger, but it will also come with a faster processing speed and accessories.

1. The stylus

The new Apple Pencil can read pressure and stroke types, making it possible to shade, draw and carry out subtle movements associated with a traditional pencil.

This, along the keyboard that clips to the Pro places the device in direct competition with the Microsoft Surface, which uses similar accessories.

2. The apps

Adobe is creating a collection of new Photoshop apps for the Pro – highlighting the productivity aim that the iPad Pro looks to be aimed at.

The new multi-tasking feature of iOS 9 means that when a user splits the screen in half – each of the spaces is the size of a traditional iPad screen.

3. The size

The iPad Pro will have a 12.9 inch screen with more than five million pixels.

4. The processing chip

The Pro will also have the most powerful processor chip Apple has ever created within it – the A9X is faster than 80% of the portable PCs released in the last six months, the Cupertino firm claims.
