NORTHERN Ireland’s longest running Children’s Art Festival is in full swing at Derry's Playhouse Theatre. With this year's theme being The Art of Science, the theatre has lined up a veritable laboratory of creative talent for the 2015 Playhouse Children and Teens Arts Festival.

Scientific fun and experiments at the festival include film prosthetics, set design, digital art, dance, drama and music. The facilitators are graphic designer and illustrator Joe Barwise; early years music and movement teacher Bernie Doherty; Kirstin McLaughlin of Kid Art & the Craft Box; illustrator Sean Keddy; set designer Phil Ruddock; photographer and film-maker Denzil Browne; Mary Hill School of Ballet's Victoria Harrison; musical theatre director Ryan Quinn and Design Den inventor Siuan O'Doherty.

The festival, which runs until Friday July 31, is divided into three age categories, 4-6 year olds, 7-12 years old and teens. Contact The Playhouse Box Office on (028) 71268027 or info@derryplayhouse.co.uk for details.
