THE Belfast Hills Partnership and Ulster Wildlife are looking for enthusiastic history buffs of all ages to take part in their Big Dig event from June 15-26.

Dig experts from Queens University Centre for Archaeological Fieldwork hope to finally uncover the mysterious past of an earthwork enclosure on Ulster Wildlifes Slievenacloy Nature Reserve, at the southern end of the Belfast Hills.

THE Duke and Duchess of Abercorn opened the beautiful grounds of Baronscourt Estate in Newtownstewart for a summer fete last weekend in support of the Woodland Trust.

Money raised will support the creation of a special Centenary Wood, right by the banks of the River Faughan in Co Derry, one of four flagship woods being created across the UK to mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War.
