Equine exhibition

NOW showing in the City Factory Gallery at Derry's Void art space, Horse features work by 28 artists including George Stubbs and Henry Moore. The exhibition explores the representation and role of the horse in contemporary and historical society and its profound relationship to man through war, agriculture and sport. Co-curator Mark Wallinger has a lifelong love of horses. The artist is best known for his 1994 Turner Prize nomination, a racehorse he named A Real Work of Art, and more recently for his Angel of the South Ebbsfleet proposal: a 50-metre-tall white horse that will stand tall over redeveloped land in Kent. Horse combines work from historical collections, an open submission call and invited artists. Admission is free and the exhibition runs until April 18.
