A light on child cancer

THIS is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and Cancer Fund for Children has launched a campaign to increase understanding of the disease as well as its long-term effects on the child and whole family.

The charity, which offers practical, emotional and financial support, estimates there are 350 children and teenagers in the north living with cancer, who will experience the traumatic and stressful journey of treatment plans and hospital visits, while not knowing what the future holds for them. If your family is affected by childhood cancer and needs help or advice contact Cancer Fund for Children on 028 9080 5599.

The organisation is encouraging people to purchase and wear a gold ribbon to show their support and to change their social media profile pictures to a gold ribbon for September to raise awareness.
