2014 Belfast Comedy Festival, September 24 to October 5

THE 2014 Belfast Comedy Festival unveiled its line-up this week, with over 40 events involving more than 150 performers set to take place at various venues across the city.

Critically acclaimed comedians such as Richard Herring, Paul Foot, Hal Cruttenden and Simon Munnery will bringing the laughter, along with top homegrown comic talent including David McSavage, Foil, Arms & Hog; Joe Rooney, Colin Murphy, Micky Bartlett, Paul Currie and Colin Geddis to name but a few.

Anyone who fancies having a go at stand-up themselves is also in luck, as the festival will be hosting the Northern Ireland heat of the Hobgoblin

However, it's not all gags down a mic: a Comedy Bus Tour will provide a an 'alternative' view of Belfast via sight-seeing commentary from comedian Paddy McDonnell, while the folks from Wireless Mystery Theatre will be recreating seminal radio play Ghost Hunters, one of the main inspirations for Ghostbusters

There festival also offers a seminar on the history of cartooning, the origins and evolution of farce, a kids comedy club, workshops on the comedy influences of Dickens and even some Laughter Yoga. *
