Gig of the week...

DP13 Rock The Hall, Friday November 15, The Ulster Hall

ROCK and metal lovin' local promoters The Distortion Project take over one of Belfast's finest live venues next Friday to celebrate their 13th anniversary.

Part of Belfast Music Week, for one night only The Ulster Hall will reverberate to the riff-tastic sounds of six very different home-grown rock acts.

Belfast's Stormzone will top the bill with a decibel-laden dose of melodic metal like your da used to headbang to, with catchy thrashcore types Sinocence bringing up the rear.

Co Derry hellions Triggerman (pictured) will also be in full effect to bring the hammer down on their groove-bound caveman rock, while the 100 per cent putrid trad death metal of Co Down's Zombified will thrill fans of all Cookie Monster vocal grindage.

Straight outta Doagh, Skypilot deliver their skyscraping desert rock riffage with aplomb - just as well, because they'll be following the thrashy old-skool heavy metal clatter of Belfast trio Rabid Bitch of The North, the night's opening act. Guaranteed fun for those fed up with banging the head that does not bang of a Friday evening, this 13th birthday bash will only be unlucky for anyone who fails to buy a ticket. *

Tickets £10 from Distortionproject.com.
