SuperSpeed for Insignia SuperSport

THE Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport, on show at this month's Frankfurt Motor Show, is the fastest car you can buy for less than £30,000. It has a top speed of 170mph thanks to a turbocharged 2.8-litre V6 petrol engine that produces 321bhp. Available as a five-door hatch or estate, the VXR SuperSport has four-wheel-drive and sees off 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds, or 6.1 seconds for the Sport Tourer estate.

For the revised Insignia, the VXR has improved shock absorbers to improve comfort and road holding, while new sabre-tooth detailing at the front makes the car stand out. There is also a new integrated tailpipe exit under the rear bumper. Other changes to the Insignia VXR SuperSport include an all-new instrument panel and central console design, which incorporates optional Blue-tooth-operated internet connectivity, an 8-inch touchscreen, 3D navigation and voice control. DAB is standard. Prices for the Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport Hatch start at £29,749 and the Sports Tourer begins at £31,049.
