Calling all former players and coaches
 All former players and former coaches are requested to attend the next in a series of meetings aimed at improving coaching technigues and availability of coaches for our teams and particularly our youth teams over the next number of years. The meeting has been arranged for Thursday 12th November at 9.00pm and we are hoping for a good turn out of committed club members and those interested in the future of St Malachy's GAC. Please show us your support.


Thanks to the adult players who turned out for the first in a series of meetings arranged to address the shortage of volunteer coaches within the club.

It was particularly heartening to see a number of high profile senior players there and more importantly making a commitment to juvenile coaching next season. We have every confidence their contribution will make an enormous difference.

Disappointing though that there was not a greater presence of adult players overall - only 3 females for example and female coaches are urgently required.

There may be good reasons why more players didn't turn up as it would really be disheartening to think that the majority of players don't really care about the future performances of our club teams and I urge you to give serious consideration to helping give something back to your club and to the next generation of club players as other former players and coaches done in passing their skills and knowledge on to you.

The next meeting that will be arranged is aimed at former players and former coaches that have been inactive for a number of years and we are hopeful that we will have a good turnout for that meeting. Details will be published and we will endeavour to contact as many as possible personally beforehand.

Help is urgently required if we are to face the challenges of the future and compete competently at all levels.
