A Letter from the Chairman

A Letter from the President
A Chara,

I am privileged to be President of the R.G.U. at such a momentous occasion.

The launching of the clubs own web site, reflects the forward thinking of our executive committee, who have during the past three years been responsible for the greatest period of development in the clubs history.

I have been a member of the R.G.U. since I first appeared in an under 12 jersey many years ago and I am today just as enthusiastic as I was then.

I am proud of the many dedicated people of Dun Padraig – a town stepped in the rich cultural heritage of Ireland – who have choosen to follow the Gaelic way with conviction and commitment, and to promote Gaelic games and culture.

This new web site will hopefully inspire our supporters to commit themselves to the ideals and principles of the Cumann Luthchleas Gael, and make a personal and practical contribution to the important wok of the R.G.U today.

A Letter from the Chairman
A Chara,

This is an historic moment in the annals of the R.G.U., and one which all the Gaels in the country towns will look upon with great pride.

The R.G.U. have for over a century been a key element in the social fabric of society and their contributions to the development of our young men and women have been immeasurable. The club has a long and proved tradition of being at the forefront of Gaelic games and can stand alongside all the clubs in County Down and in the rest of Ireland, as a highly respected part of the Gaelic Athletic Association.

I would like to pay tribute to all those Gaelic, past and present, who have worked unselfishly for the promotion of our games in the County town.

But time waits for no man, and in today’s technological age, we at the R.G.U. must adopt and embrace the new information systems, so that our supporters both at home and abroad can be better informed of what is currently happening.

Finally I would like to take this opportunity to thank my hard working executive committee, members and fellow Gaels for making this historic venture possible.
