CAFE chain BB's Coffee and Muffins has returned to Northern Ireland after the chain scaled back its operations across Britain and Ireland when it fell into administration.

The Limerick-headquartered group has opened at The Outlet, Banbridge - its 50th store - in a move that will create 11 jobs.

The chain, formerly owned by Irish entrepreneur Denis O'Brien, was sold to private equity company Brentwood Investments for a reported €10m (£7.1m) earlier this year and is in expansion mode.

The opening of BB’s at The Outlet follows the recent arrival of international golfing brand Golf Nation, as well as the expansion of Bedeck, Denby and Regatta stores. Welcoming the opening of the BB’s at The Outler centre manager Chris Nelmes said: "The brand will be a fantastic addition to our existing food offering, in a unique setting, which will provide even more choice for our visitors as they enjoy their day out with us.”

BB's CEO Andrew Moyes added: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank The Outlet for all their help and support with the opening of our first store in Northern Ireland and our 50th store in our portfolio.

"It’s not only a fantastic location and fit for the brand but we are delighted that we can show off bb’s character through our unique, locally themed store décor. We hope visitors enjoy their bb’s experience and we look forward to welcoming everyone to the new store.”
