A FORMER Dungannon abattoir with planning permission for a retail and forecourt development has gone on the market.

The former Oakdale Meats site on Coalisland Road has been listed with an asking price of £1.295 million. It includes a dwelling next to the industrial site.

The 1.59 acre site is located across the road from Dungannon Enterprise Centre and close to the Oaks Shopping Centre and retail park, where Sainsbury’s already operates a fuel forecourt.

It’s also located closed to a number of residential properties.

Mid Ulster District Council granted planning permission to BDJ Management for the redevelopment of the vacant site in February 2021.

The proposals provide for a local neighbourhood shop, workshops, forecourt and canopy, as well as a crèche.
