BUILDING and civil engineering contractor Farrans Construction has opened a new office in Leeds city centre to further bolster its growing presence in the Midlands and the north of England.

It will be used to manage an existing portfolio of high profile building and civil engineering projects, including a roads infrastructure improvement project at junction 47 of the A1 in Nottingham, and Live Oasis: Strato, a 20-storey student residential accommodation block in Leeds city centre.

Part of the CRH Group, Farrans already employs more than 550 people at offices in Dunmurry, London, Cambridge and Edinburgh.

The new Leeds office will also serve as a base to grow its interiors and refurbishment arm FADO, which works with landlords, tenants, service providers and professional teams to deliver complex and creative projects.

Dominic Lavery, managing director of Farrans Construction, said: “The Leeds office is about us committing to build long term partnerships with clients, consultants and supply chain in the Midlands and north of England, where there are opportunities in the pipeline of building, civil engineering and fit-out.

“We are already on site on a number of projects in and around Leeds, which is one of the most ambitious and energetic cities in the UK.

“We are looking forward to becoming part of the fabric of this region, working with local suppliers and providing educational and apprenticeship opportunities for young people to experience the construction industry.”
